Meet Bettina Freese

Bettina has been a massage and anatomy educator since 2003. Her focus is to help you age with strength and grace, emotionally, spiritually and physically. She will help you become strong in the subtle ways before that trainer throws you into deadlifts and burpees. You will walk and move with ease after working with her. She relies on a team of doctors, physical therapists, and yoga gurus to provide you the best information and care. Her yoga classes are anatomy-based and detail-oriented to suit your unique issues and abilities. Nobody is "good" at yoga. Yoga is being in your body, rather than striking a pose and being "flexible".

Bettina is a graduate of the Center for Massage & Natural Health and a 500 hour EYT yoga teacher through the Asheville Yoga Center. She is currently the lead teacher at the Mayland Community College massage program. She has also worked in nursing, as a gymnastics coach, and personal trainer. Her private practice is in Asheville, North Carolina where she helps clients with structural realignment through massage, movement and body assessment.

Her work in patient advocacy means she can help you prepare for doctor appointments with a list of questions and concerns. She will translate your medical reports and help you understand exactly what that surgery will address.

She is a graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill Journalism school and is a freelance writer. Bettina grew up in Chicago, where she attended LPN school before going into the US Navy. She has spent enough time in WNC to consider herself a mountain mama. She spends time paddling rivers, hiking trails and whipping through the forests on her mountain bike while raising two boys, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and quail.
